How much do 360 degree panoramic dental x-rays cost in Alberta ?

I will be returning to Alberta soon and am curious. I just got some work done here(Japan) without insurance and the x-rays cost $40 while the cleaning was also $40. Extremely cheap compared to Canada or the US, I think.

Sorry, I have no idea...$75-$100 in US. Good Luck

Dental Indemnity Plans?

Does anyone have experience dealing with this type of dental insurance (Dental Indemnity Plans)? How does it differ from regular dental insurance? My health insurance offers it as an option, and it looks attractive to me because it allows me to go to any dentist, not just ones in their "network". However, the annual cap is $1000. The premiums end up being about $500 anyway, and I am wondering about how much of a hassle they give to people when claims are submitted. Is it even worth it?
--------------------
You are better off just self insuring unless you know you need a lot of work or you are meticulaous about oral hygiene and go in for cleanings every six months. Dental indemnity usually means you pay and the insurer pays you back (net of allowables). You can run up a huge bill and they only pay $1000. Remeber dentists can change anything they want. You will pay the difference.

Looking for a dental plan?

I live in Alabama and I'm looking for a cheap dental plan, its been a while since I've gone to the dentist. I'm 24 also. The main reason now I want dental insurance is because my right side wisdom tooth is basically rotting off. Its virtually not there anymore and its just black on the inside pretty much only half the front and right side of the tooth is there, pretty much it is decaying slowly off. It doesn't hurt at all but I want to get to it before it does. Whats the cheapest and best dental insurance for me to get so I can get this taking care of ASAP. I've looked at Humana One Dental but I have no clue on insurance or reading about insurance.

YOu are not the only person who have ever met this kind of problem,I met this type of problem before.I have good experience here www.HealthInsuranceFree.info to solve the problem.

Dental billing question - Dentist did not bill correctly and now we are being sued!?

I may need a attorney to answer this question, but any input would be appreciated... We are being sued by the dentist for an unpaid balance..My husband had insurance, everytime he went to the dentist, he was told to pay his portion.. Well the dentist did not bill the insurance company correctly, meaning their codes were not correct and the insurance company kicked out the claims or the insurance company needed more information, like xrays, etc. Well 3 years later, the dentist is suing us for the unpaid balance..I have copies of the dentist claim forms, and the insurance claim forms, that proves the dentist did not bill correctly and did not resubmit. My husband no longer works at that company so we do not have dental insurance. The dentist rebills the insurance company again 3 years later! So my question is can I be held responsible for the dentist not getting his act together, and can I countersue somehow because this is on our credit history,???
--------------------
First of all, it was the dentist's STAFF that incorrectly filed your husband's claims, not the dentist himself. Did you receive monthly statements concerning your outstanding balance owed to the dentist? Did you call when you received the statements, or just filed them away? Just because your husband does not work for the same company, he was still covered during that time period. My only worry is that since it's been 3 years, the claims may not be honored. You are responsible for the amount due...you signed a statement saying so when you first filled out the paperwork at your first visit there... Ideally you'll need copies of the treatment record, with the dates of service and what was done, and copies of the claims allegedly submitted by the dental office. Compare them to see if the right treatment was sent in for payment.. if not, it's a case of insurance fraud and the office is liable. The office should have kept track of the insurance claims when they were submitted.. if, after a 45 day period, the claim had not been settled, they should have called the insurance company to see what the hold-up was... and if the insurance company requested xrays, they should have been duplicated and sent out immediately, so as not to hold up payment.. You may need a lawyer, or at least someone knowledgable enough to look over your paperwork and see what you have/what you need...too bad you didn't live closer, I'd be happy to help you out of this mess! You can countersue, but it would be in your best interest to seek legal council on this one... and good for you that you kept copies of everything! I wish you the best of luck! ...and I apologize for such a long-winded response!

Dental work?

Currently my family has United Concordia dental insurance. My wife was diagnosed with a gum disease this morning. We found out she needs 3 root canals, and 5 cavity fillings. My current dental plan will cover about $600 of the bill. The dentist is estimating about $7000 bill. 1 - Does $7,000 sound right for this amount of work? (5 fillings, 3 root canals, 3 crowns) 2 - Could I get another dental insurance like delta (while keeping my united concordia as well)? Could I use both? 3 - What would happen if we decided we could only afford 1 or 2 root canals now? Would it be stupid to wait until Feb for the new year to kick in on my dental insurance? 4 - How should I go about paying for this? I have only about 1500 or 2,000 of spare money to put to this? Should I dump it on a credit card, take out a loan from wells fargo, take out a student loan..? She is getting the 5 cavities May 8th, and the first root canal May 12th, so I need a sound plan before then.

Im sorry to hear that. Im glad you are looking to take care of the problem ASAP. I would encourage you to visit this website: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online about 3 years ago now for all my dental work. They have saved me thousands throughout the years as a supplemental from Root Canals, extractions, exams, x-rays, cleanings…etc. All services are included (cosmetics surgery) in this very affordable plan. There are no contracts, no limits and no deductibles. I use this plan as a secondary, to cover what ever it can when the insurace is maxed or met it limits. They even had my benefits active in 2 hours and able to use them the same day. Good Luck and Hope the Helps.
