I am a massage therapist in Dallas TX and I am in desperate need of dental work. Like most others in my profession I do not have insurance and I never know what my income will be. Are there any dentist in the area that would not mind getting massage therapy in trade for dental work? I have 7 or so years of experience as a registered massage therapist on top of a lifetime of study (my Dad was a therapist as well). I am experienced in swedish, deep tissue, myo-fascial release, soft tissue techniques and reflexology (for feet and hands). I do have clients that would be happy to give their opinion and a reference as well. If you are a dentist or know a destist that would work with me please let me know, I will be eternally greatful!

Medicaid application question- what to say on forms when you live with boyfriend but he doen't support you?
I'm a 28yo ft student that hasn't made a dime since Jan. I'm taking to way many credit hours to work. I got a little fin. aid and had to take out a student loan. I haven't even gotten the check yet, so I'm dead broke and in debt. It's not such a big deal, I've been broke before, I can do it again. The problem is, I need health and dental insurance. Every independent plan including student plans cost atleast $100 a month, I can't afford that. I've been told I would qualify for medicaid and it's free. But I know they will ask about who I live with and how much he makes. My boyfriend makes good money, but he doesn't support me. I haven't been paying rent but once I get that check he wants me to pay atleast a little. So, what do I say on the forms? If I say I do pay rent, will he have to mention that when he files his taxes? If I say I don't pay, will they he supports me and want to include his income? I truly am broke, can't work, am not being supported and need insurance. what do I say?

I work as auditor for Medicaid. Just do this! don't put him in the application and he should write a letter of support stating the he helps you with meal you can submit your income and also a letter from your school stating that you go to school or college full-time. They don't count your income if you go to school full-time. If You have resources I mean money in the bank over 2,000 in the bank you wont qualify. You don't have to lie, just say the true you go the school and your boyfriend is helping you. If you have any other question send me an email, I'll be happy to help you.

Insurance clarity - need help!?
If you injured yourself, say a few of weeks ago...maybe twisted an ankle that you think is pretty much healed but still causes you some problems AND YOU DID NOT SEE A PHYSICIAN about it - and then recently opted to get medical insurance. When they ask if you have any pre-existing conditions, is this one of them? Or is pre-existing something you went and saw a physician about, or an on-going health problem, ie high blood pressure etc? I would like to see the doctor and ask him to check my ankle... Also, is getting your wisdom teeth pulled considered medical or is it considered dental?

Dental question?
first, I already know it's best to ask a dentist. It's 11 pm so that will have to wait until morning....Anyways, I need quite a bit of dental work done. I have a calcium deficiency and because of that my teeth will break without warning. I also have a cavity that needs filled, thanks to a tooth chipping where it shouldn't have. Okay, as of now and for the next few months, I am without any type of insurance. Would it hurt to wait a few more months to go to the dentist is would it be better to set up a payment plan and have them done now?

In our area, there are doctors and dentists who help those for free. You may want to check to see if you have the same in your area. If not, see if you can work out a payment plan with a dentist. Sometimes if you make regular payments on time, they will give you a percentage break and you do not have to pay the whole amount, but you have to show an honest effort. In the meantime, start taking calcium supplements, drink more milk, and rinse with hydrogen peroxide. Also, get a little vitamin D by going outside in the sun for about 15 minutes a day. Stop drinking sodas and sugar-laden drinks, and drink through a straw.

Will Kaiser Permanente take out my Wisdom Teeth?
I haven't called yet but I don't wanna feel stupid when I do :/ My dental won't cover me anymore cuz I'm not a full time student so my next option is my medical which covers me regardless of student status. I know kaiser doesn't have dental will they take out my wisdom teeth if I need them to? they aren't going to sit and wait til someone takes them out I've already called around to other dental insurance and so far its a no go
--------------------
I would contact Kaiser and find out. If your wisdom teeth will create other health problems, then they might take them out. If it's for purely cosmetic reasons, ie it will mess up your smile, my guess they won't. As for all those people who poo poo Kaiser, let me state that you have to be forceful and assertive with Kaiser and take charge of your own health care. Be informed and educated. Kaiser is a "cattle" outfit; however, it does offer health coverage for a lot less.
