I have not had one myself, but I am a dental assistant in Michigan. In my area I believe the cost is approx. $2,400 which is close to the price of a bridge. I think an implant is definitely your best choice. People who have dental ins. tend to go with a bridge, because ins. will pay for a bridge but not an implant, so since ins. is not an issue I would go for the implant. I know it will take several visits. I am not sure how many at the oral surgeon's office, but it will probably take at least three at your general dentist's office.

Aetna Dental Insurance?
Does Aetna(DMO), Cover invisalign? All it says is that it covers up to $2,300 on orthadontics, and I have the same insurance through UPS. So, my parents insurance will pay whatever mine doesn't as a secondary insurance. Which is fabolous by the way. So, Does orthadontics include invisialign? Thankyou.

i need help finding dental coverage for my family. lost job last year and need dental work done in near furture. does those discount cards really work? will they cover pre-existing conditions. can i use them at an oral surgeon office. Help me in Texas... thanks

Dental Insurance Cards do not work. (Discount Crads) We refuse to take them. Generally patients walk into the office and while the insurance companies listed are reputable. The time and expense needed to look up every fee is to great. Usually we offer discounts for cash that are lower than the discount cards.

HeLP!! Dental insurance question???
I was told in the consultation that my insurance can only cover 80% of my removal of my 4 wisdoms teeth. It will be $1,500 to remove my wisdoms and the insurance can only cover $1,200 according to them, the surgeon. And the rest $300 i have to pay. I wanted to know if this is true with other surgeons if i was to go to other places. Insurance doesnt cover the whole %100?? Is this true??

Although I agree with many of the answers, that your scenario doesn't sound unusual, there is only one way to be sure. Get a copy of the policy or plan document. All limiations and coverage levels will be spelled out in there. My son's wisdom teeth were covered, but the plan limit was $1500 per year per person. His cost $2200 (3 years ago), so I could have said only take 2 out this year and 2 out the next year and had it fully covered, but I knew there was a good chance he'd never go back. If it's not too late, see if you can put the additiona $$ required in an FSA. It will allow you to spead the $300 cost over the full year through pretax payroll deductions. I think there is no 'bargain' in dental insurance as a whole, but if you collect $1500 in a year, you are a definite winner as far as insurance works. It's normally break even if you get your 2 annual cleanings...anything more is gravy.

you will only find what's best for you by spending a couple of weeks getting quotes by everyone then comparing them. Sounds like a lot of work, the alternative is to go with the first one someone suggests and then just hope and that's what most people do.

Typically the average cost of braces runs anywhere from $5000-5500. When my aunt used the Ameriplan provider and discount to get my cousins done, she only paid $2100 in total.
