how much do British citizens pay in taxes?

in the US it is lower but we have to pay for medical insurance, id say about 25% of my income would go towards medical/dental and vision insurance if i actually had insurance, i cant afford it though so i do not go to doctors or the dentist. anyway im just making comparisons tonight, i think the US is embarrassingly behind other countries, it is funny that so many people think we are the most "fortunate" people on earth. maybe some of us are but i am definitely not one of them LOL
